National Society of Collegiate Scholars to Host ScholarCon 2014

A former personnel clerk with the United States Marine Corps at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in Parris Island, North Carolina, Shane Stodghill is currently pursuing his bachelor of arts in government at the University of Texas at Austin. Previously, he studied political science at the University of North Texas in Denton. In recognition of his academic achievements, Shane Stodghill earned membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in 2012.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) recently announced the dates for ScholarCon 2014, which will be held July 24-27, 2014 in Orlando, Florida. Described as an “unconventional convention,” this event will unite the highest achievers in the country for four days of keynote speakers, Spark Sessions, and the opportunity to network and give back to the community. Speakers scheduled for ScholarCon 2014 include Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade, Inc.; Eric Kuhn, considered the first social media agent in Hollywood; and Grammy Award-winning singer and philanthropist, John Legend.

Established in 1994 at The George Washington University, the NSCS is a nonprofit organization that honors academic high achievers. A valuable resource for its members, NSCS provides career counseling, service and leadership opportunities, and annual scholarships.
