About Shane Stodghill

In January of 2013, Shane Stodghill accepted a position with the Texas House of Representatives as a legislative aide for State Representative Chris Turner. In this professional role, he performs a number of administrative functions, as well as aiding with legislation for veterans. Mr. Stodghill’s duties also include performing research for the floor and committee, regarding pending legislation.

Shane Stodghill served in the United States Marine Corps between 2007 and 2011 before receiving an honorable discharge. Originally a site security manager, he oversaw the daily operations of the ID Card Center in Camp Courtney, Okinawa. He then transitioned into the role of personnel clerk with a Marine Corps Recruit Depot in South Carolina, where he served for two years.

Today, Shane Stodghill is pursuing his bachelor of arts in political science at the University of Texas at Austin. Currently a junior, he plans to graduate next year. Outside of his career, Mr. Stodghill enjoys such extracurricular activities as weight lifting, reading, playing golf, and swimming.
